Team leaders were Prof. Ing. Prof. Dr. V. Kolar. and Ing. I. German, MD., Who later became director of the FEM consulting firm. The company specializes in the research and development of software systems for solving structures using finite element method. In the past, the basic product of the system NE-XX (NE letters are the first two letters of the last name of the main author). This product has become very successful in the domestic market and soon after its launch in 1975 have gained market leadership. It was also exported to many other countries. He was later distributed in Europe under the name of SCIA ESA NEX. This product, which was created for the DOS operating system was developed by FEM consulting complete, ie. Including a graphical user interface.
Since r. 1998, the company focuses exclusively on research and development of computational cores of FEM including its own generator network. In 1996 the company merged with FEM consulting firm IDA et al. to develop a new system for MKP operating system Windows. The system was called NEXIS. In this system, FEM consulting firm developed a generator networks and FEM solver. The graphical environment, a series of dialogues tender postprocessorů has developed the IDA et al. This system is distributed in Europe under the name ESA Prima Win (EPW). In many European countries gained significant market share, sometimes even dominant position. For example, in the Netherlands, the system has become so popular that users have created fan clubs EPW.

In the Czech Republic it is a system RENEX, working under AutoCAD. On the German market with a product RFEM developed together with the German company Dlubal and also distributed in Germany by the company. Program RFEM is now also sold in the Czech Republic.
In 2001, the company has established closer cooperation with the faculty of Civil Engineering BUT. This cooperation was initiated by the leadership of the BUT FAST and today the company has a registered office in the building of the faculty at the Institute of Structural Mechanics. This should open the door to even broader cooperation between FEM consulting and construction faculty in the future.
